Chapter Seven: Nightmare (when we finally figure out what we knew from when we picked up the book)

So, Chapter Seven falls after Bella’s discussion with Jacob. She goes home and has a dream about Jacob turning into a wolf, and Edward looking like a vampire. Bella continuesto mill over this new information. Naturally, she goes to the internet.

After naming a few types of vampires, she goes out to a trail and begins milling over what this knowledge means. She finally comes to the conclusion that she cannot stay away from him.

But the Cullens are not in school the next day. It’s a bright, sunny day. After school, Bella goes out and lays out in the backyard and tries to read. She falls asleep. What she doesn’t know (and what we learn from Midnight Sun is that Edward is there, watching her. He actually ventures down to sit next to her.

This chapter seems to be a long time coming. From the quotation on the back of the book, we’ve known Edward was a vampire (and if we were turned onto reading this by a friend) and we’ve just been waiting for Bella to figure it out. And now that we have… The action is JUST beginning.
